Cyclists not looking to make life miserable

Really?

As many readers of The Echo are aware, there has been an ongoing tension between drivers (based on my own experience, mostly pick up trucks) and cyclists. I thought there was a certain understanding and respect developing between these two groups, however, I was very disappointed to see this sign on Concession 6 just north of the 15/16 Sideroad, coming out of Glen Huron. I cannot for the life of me understand the motivation for doing this, however I have a proposal for the guilty party:

I can only assume you have not been reading the articles in The Echo about this subject, so if you wish to provide me with your email address, I would be happy to scan and forward you all the articles, so that you can read up on this issue.

Seeing as you obviously have time on your hands, and I have a lot of work to do on our property, I would like to offer a part-time position at $20 per hour for a maximum of eight hours. This would give us time to get to know each other, and to further discuss this issue. You will likely discover that we cyclists are not road hogging, lycra-clad city slickers looking to make your life miserable, but rather activity-loving individuals who find the Creemore area special.

Any takers?

Tom Bernard,

Toronto.
