Creemore walkers beware

 In Letters, Opinion

Editor:

At 9 a.m. last Saturday morning I parked my car on Caroline Street intending to attend the market. I realized I would need cash so began walking to the TD Bank machine via Caroline Street to Mill Street when BANG, I slipped, then fell dangerously forward as a result of a hidden area of sunken bricks (filled in with sand) in the middle of the walk way.

Jen, our wonderful pharmacist, saw my situation out the window of the drug store and ran to my assistance. As you can imagine I was badly shaken up! Apparently victims falling in this location happen too often… all year as well, as ice patches get hidden there!

Seeing me around town you will notice the bloody scabs and bruises on my mouth and nose. My arms and wrists are the same. My glasses were crooked so when having them adjusted, I was told there was a fine crack in the nosepiece. I was fortunate not to have any broken bones.

Many residents have told me this has happened too often with incidents like mine reported to the township but no attempt has been made to fix the situation!

Help, Councillor Thom Paterson, and Mayor Doug Measures!

Gail Caswell,

Glencairn.
